Understanding ISO 10667 – A standard for assessment service delivery
Dave Bartram, SHL Group Ltd, UK

Abstract
The Workshop will provide delegates with the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the draft ISO Standard 10667: Assessment service delivery –Procedures and methods to assess people in work and organizational settings. This standard is currently out for consultation and so the workshop provides an ideal opportunity for those working in areas related to the subject of the standard to understand what it is about, consider its implications and provide input to the consultation process.
The standard is in two parts. One sets our requirements for service providers and the other for clients. It is expected that in some countries the former will provide the basis for certification of service providers. For these reasons, people who are engaged in assessment service delivery will find it useful to gain an understanding of what the standard says and how that might relate to their current practice.
The workshop facilitators have both been closely involved in the development of the standard, not only as representatives of their national standards bodies on the ISO Project Committee but also as members of the small editorial group that has been responsible for producing the various drafts of the standard that have culminated in the present Draft International Standard 10667.
The workshop will commence with an introduction to the standard, why it was developed, who was involved in the development and what the process has been up to now. We will then look at the form and structure of the standard and provide time for workshop delegates to work together to review and discuss some of the details.
This workshop will be designed to complement the shorter panel discussion session on ISO 10667 which is planned for the conference. If you are not already familiar with the standard, the workshop will provide a good opportunity to get to grips with it so as to get the most from the panel discussion.
